Symposium on Systems Research in the Arts

Music, Environmental Design, and the Choreography of Space:
1999-2004

During the past six years, more than 100 papers presented at the Symposium on Systems Research in the Arts  have addressed the following questions: (1) how are systems integrated within works of music, environmental design, and choreography?, (2) are these arts conducive to investigation by common analytic methods based on mathematics and general systems problem solving techniques?, and (3)  is there potential for a multi-disciplinary system language among such arts and if so, what methodologies and technologies are necessary to create?

We are grateful to the authors who have contributed to this emerging body of knowledge.  We look forward to continuing dialogue.
